On Monday, March 6, 2023 (Black Balloon Day), artist Owen Lowery, Hope for NH Recovery Center, & the Currier Museum of Art presented the live stream portion of their community art project More to a Black Balloon.

Black balloons symbolize lives lost to addiction and overdose. More to a Black Balloon imbues this symbol with individuality, reminding us that each balloon represents a unique human life.

In 2022, sixty people were lost to overdose in Manchester, NH. Leading up to Black Balloon Day, community members added colored pigment into 60 balloons, dedicating them to individuals lost to addiction and individuals personally unknown.

During the live stream, each of these balloons danced in the wind of a fan, their motion creating music on individual synthesized instruments, their pops revealing the color within, continuing to share each balloon's uniqueness long after the loss.

This album contains all 61 audio tracks for each balloon from the live stream event. They are considered public domain and free to download and use in your own projects, but please credit the artist (Owen Lowery) and the album/art project (More to Black Balloon) in your projects credits and/or notes.
